Chocolate sponge cakes

I have done a really, really similar blog post to this before but I'm a choc-o-holic so when I bake and make things, I do like them to be chocolaty. For this baking post I made chocolate sponge cakes, this mixture can make one tray of big cup cakes which are like muffins or two trays of small cup cakes. Its different from my last baking post as this recipe is a lot more of a sponge than the other cupcakes. So this is how you make them.

You will need:
9oz Butter
9oz Caster Sugar
6oz Self raising flour
4oz Coco powder
4 Eggs
1 Pinch of salt
1 Large bar of Chocolate

  1. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees c/170c fan or gas mark 5 and fill a tray with cupcake cases.
  2. Weigh all you ingredients out and put you butter and caster sugar in a mixer or bowl, mix them together until the mixture is soft.
  3. Then add the eggs gradually (add one at a time and then mix together before adding the next one in.)
  4. Sift in the self raising flour and coco powder then fold in the flour and coco powder until the mixture is stiff.
  5. Separate the mixture into all the cases and then put in the over to cook for 30 minuets.
  6. When you take your cakes out the oven put a knife in the cake and if when you take it out if its clean then they are cooked, leave then on a same place to cool down.

    7. Next take your large bar of chocolate break it into little pieces and melt it in a saucepan.
    8. To finish of the cakes drizzle the melted chocolate over the cakes and then you are ready to enjoy your spongy cupcakes.

Big City Adventure!

Throwing it all the way back to boxing day but rather then spending the week after christmas at home doing nothing, this year myself and my family decided to fly out to Chicago and stay in a hotel for a few days and be proper tourists around the big city. I stayed at the Sheraton Grand hotel which is quite central in the city your not in manic rush of the magnificent mile which is just a mile long road of shops which is spent probably too much money in but you have everything around you like restaurants slightly less busy shops, Starbucks (on every street corner).
I was my first time in Chicago and it did not disappoint. We were only there for seven days so we packed everyday full of fun and sight seeing including Ice skating, John Green aquarium and we went up the 360 Chicago building which is the second highest building in Chicago ad myself and my Dad did the tilt. The tilt for those who don't know, is where you stand up against a panel of glass facing out of the building and t…

November Favorites

This is my November favourites its actually quite a short one this month but I guess I have been using my normal products and stuff but these thing I have been loving on another level!!!

Avon Nail varnish So it's almost Christmas and I think this nail varnish is very festive and sparkly without being too much considering it's not even December yet. It's from Avon and I bought this nail varnish roughly this time last year but I feel like I have rediscovered this product and I am constantly wearing it right now. It is made up of lots of glitter in silver, gold and black, together they make such a nice shimmery colour. They do still sell this at Avon for £3.00 however they changed the names and shades slightly but I love all of them and I think I might have to purchase some more.

T Mug This past month I have been loving this mug, it has a T on it for my name and I've been enjoying tea and hot chocolate out of it. I'm not sure where it came from as it was a present from…

Christmas Throwback

So I have gone through Facebook and all the laptops in the house to look for all our old christmas December photos with a Christmas theme so here are the findings. Looking at these pictures have really made me smile, we did have some more but I just can't find them.

This is super bad quality but I think was two years ago at Broadditch farm when we went to buy a tree, we had a look round the shop and myself and my mum decided that we wanted to take a selfie in these super cool glasses.

This is 2012 when we decorated the living room and bought new decorations, I love this picture it makes me feel so cosy.
I love this collage I made two years ago I think and Cooper my dog was being super cute and he got lots of presents on Christmas day.
This is in 2011 and we had snow in December but not christmas day. This was like the beginning of December and we went to a winter wonderland somewhere and they had like a little zoo bit then we went and bought ice cream. Also I am now realizing how…
